Founded upon the principle of anti-secrecy at Williams College in 1834; later adopted a principle of non-secrecy.  (Non-Secrecy means that all information including rituals, oaths, and meaning of Fraternity symbols can be shared openly.)

Only international non-secret fraternity.

Over 85 Chapters and Colonies in the United States and Canada.

Over 106,000 men have been initiated into the Fraternity since its founding.

Motto is Dikaia Upotheke, or Justice our Foundation.

Four founding principles are: The promotion of Friendship; Development of Character; Diffusion of Liberal Culture; and the Advancement of Justice.

Members are admitted solely on the basis of merit, and hazing (humiliation or acts of buffoonery) is not tolerated.

Hosts an annual summer Leadership Institute for chapter leaders.

Offers summer intern program which places undergraduate members at the International Headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Publications Include:

--The Quarterly, the first ever, official magazine to be published by a Fraternity.  It has been published continuously since 1882 and now has a circulation of over 55,000.

--The Cornerstone: Delta Upsilon's guide to college and beyond.

--Monthly Newsletters for undergraduates and Alumni covering topics on leadership, membership recruitment, membership education, academic achievement, alumni advising and loss prevention.

--Several Chapter officer resource manuals and guides covering leadership, chapter finances, public relations, membership recruitment, loss prevention, crisis management, standards of excellence, Fraternity expansion, Fraternity policies and colony administration.

Offers Scholarships through the DUIF (Delta Upsilon Educational Foundation), and educational topics including: academic achievement, career development, men's health issues, business etiquette and dress, and alcohol awareness.

Uses a bicameral legislative structure which gives undergraduates and alumni equal opportunity to shape Fraternity policy.
