Pan Am Founder Returns to UT-PA
It was late in the Summer of 2000, when our dear brother David Canales had to leave campus on special circumstances... Brother, David Canales was the only member since Pan American was a colony, who wanted to pursue priesthood in the catholic dialysis. Sad by the advanced notice of his departure, the chapter threw a memorable "farewell" party, one unlike any other that has been done for a departing member. David Canales is a very responsible, and kind human being, and for that reason the celebration was filled with not only members and alumni, but non-Greek students alike. Brother David departed to Minnesota to become a catholic priest. D.U. is known to have a very diverse array of cultures, ethnicities and religions among its ranks (as was the chapter because of D.U.'s principles which apply to most, advancement of character, diffusion of liberal culture, development of character, and of course, non-secrecy and non-hazing), therefore it was not surprising that he was ever a part of us. On September 13t, 2001, brother David was discovered wondering the halls of UT-PA after having been declared M.I.A. (missing in action). Brother Canales has returned to finish his bachelors' degree and then return to Minnesota to finish his long-time dream of becoming a priest. And so our beloved brother, and exceptional friend to the UT-PA community is now re-instated to active/UNDERGRADUATE MEMBER status on our "founders' list" on this web-page. "Welcome back brother David, and good luck on your studies" __Bro. Hiram Gonzalez (Pan Am. '02) |
