Phi Kappa Phi, which was founded in 1897, has more than 275 chapters at universities and colleges throughout the nation. It is the only major national scholastic honor society that recognizes academic excellence in all disciplines. Since the UT Pan American chapter was chartered in 1983, three chapter nominees have received these national awards.
