Two faculty members in the UT Pan American Department of Biology, Dr. Robert Lonard and Dr. Timothy Brush, will present a lecture on "The Natural History of the Lower Rio Grande Valley" at 11 a.m. in Room 3.212 of the Science Building.
At 3 p.m. the same day, prominent Pan American alumnus Dr. Robert W. Feldtman will present an Alumni Honors Lecture on "Ancient Wisdom in Modern Medical Practice" in Room 2.104 of the Science Building. Feldtman is a member of the surgery faculty at The University of Texas-Houston Health Science Center.
The two lectures are part of the university's "Celebration of Science," which includes the dedication beginning at 1 p.m. Oct. 21 of the new Science Building, with Lt. Gov. Bob Bullock as keynote speaker. UT System Chancellor William H. Cunningham is also expected to speak at the event. A reception will follow the dedication.
