Rabbi Claudio Kogan

Join Rabbi Claudio Kogan, MD, MBE, M.Ed., from the Temple Emanuel in McAllen, and Bishop Daniel Flores, Sacrae Theologiae Doctor, from the Catholic Diocese of Brownsville for this free event that is open to the public. Doors open at 6:15 p.m.

*The inspiration for these conversations are modeled on the book, “On Heaven and Earth,” featuring the interreligious dialogue between former Archbishop of Buenos Aires, Jorge Mario Bergoglio (now Pope Francis) and Argentinian rabbi and biophysicist, Abraham Skorka.

Rabbi Claudio Kogan

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Rabbi Kogan simultaneously began medical school at the University of Buenos Aires and rabbinical school at the Latin-American Rabbinical Seminary in Argentina in 1987.

He received a Master of Hebrew Letter at the Hebrew Union College in May 2002, and also studied at Xavier University, where he received his master’s in educational organization. He was ordained as a Reform rabbi in May 2003. He finished a Master of Bioethics at the University of Pennsylvania–Medical School in 2009.
