|Fast Facts from the 2011-2012 Winter Texan Report is available at UTPA's Valley Market and Tourism Research Center Website. The center is now seeking input from Winter Texans for the 2013-2014 report.|
This year’s study, conducted by the Valley Markets and Tourism Research Center at The University of Texas-Pan American, not only looks at the economic impact of the Winter Texans, but also looks at the healthcare experiences of Winter Texans.
“This survey gives the Winter Texans a voice to Valley tourism decision makers so they can make meaningful improvements that benefit the Winter Texans and the Valley as a whole," said Dr. Penny Simpson, professor of marketing and the center's director. "Politicians, businesses and tourism officials often ask me about Winter Texans and what they’re looking for while they’re here. With this survey’s results, I can answer those questions."
All Winter Texans are invited to participate in the study that will be online until Feb. 26, 2014. All survey participants will be entered into a drawing to win a new Kindle Fire.
The center, located in the College of Business Administration, is part of the University's outreach program designed to provide research and professional service to the region and the state. It also provides educational opportunities to UT Pan American students by actively involving them in the research activities of the center. The biennial Winter Texan report has been conducted since 1986.
