Universally admired as not only one of William Shakespeare’s best plays, but also one of the greatest works of Western literature, “The Tragedy of King Lear” will open the University Theatre Productions fall season in October.
The theatrical work is a profound examination of the essence of human dignity, and this intensely majestic yet unforgiving tragedy has influenced countless novels, plays and film scripts through the centuries.
The production will be performed Oct. 5-8 at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 9 at 2 p.m. at the Albert L. Jeffers Theatre, located in the Communication Arts & Sciences Building on the corner of University Drive and Sugar Road.
Ticket pricing includes reserve seating, $12; general admission, $8 and non-UTPA students with school ID, $3. UTPA students/faculty/staff are FREE with a valid UTPA ID, and includes admission for one free guest. No children below the third grade will be admitted to this performance.
