It’s true, if you are a Pell eligible student, you may be eligible to receive an additional Pell grant for summer 2011 to help you pay for your summer classes.
• If you attended UTPA or another college or university full time during Fall and Spring semesters you may still be eligible for an additional Pell grant if you enroll in at least 6 hours during the summer AND your total passed hours from Fall/Spring plus your Summer enrollment hours is at least 25 hours.
• If you attended UTPA or another college or university less than full time during Fall and/or Spring semesters you may be eligible for any remaining Pell grant even if you enroll less than 6 hours during the summer.
You could receive up to $1,388 for enrolling for 6 hours and up to $2,775 for enrolling for 12 hours, depending on your current Pell eligibility.
You must be maintaining satisfactory academic progress to qualify.
Your Summer Award Letter reflecting your Pell award eligibility will be mailed in mid to late April.
