The banquet, which will begin at 7 p.m., will be held at the UTPA Wellness and Recreational Sports Complex, located at the southwest corner of Sugar Rd. and Schunior St. in Edinburg.

Event proceeds will go toward funding professional development opportunities for current UTPA MBA students such as conference and seminar attendance as well as helping the MBAA provide free community outreach services in the areas of marketing, management, accounting and advertising for local business owners. The MBAA has organized the event with support of the College of Business Administration.
While the first MBA class originated at Harvard in 1908, UTPA started offering its MBA program in 1975. The program was accredited by the AACSB International – the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business – in 1986. Since its inception, the UTPA MBA program has produced more than 1,000 MBA graduates and is ranked number three in the nation in awarding MBA degrees to Hispanics according to Hispanic Outlook Magazine. The College of Business Administration’s efforts to foster Hispanic leadership through graduate management education was recognized in 2007 with the prestigious Brillante Award from the National Society of Hispanic MBAs.
