Shepard, mother of Matthew Shepard, who was brutally attacked and killed in 1989, turned her grief into a lifelong avocation to eradicate hate crimes and to advocate for the rights of gays and lesbians.
The presentation is free. Seating for students, staff and faculty with a validated UTPA ID will be at 7 p.m. while seating for the public will be at 7:20 p.m.
