A UTPA student organization, GASSW promotes and develops awareness of the social work profession among the community, while fostering unity among social work students through student support and advocacy. GASSW adheres to the principles and ethics of the social work profession set by the National Association of Social Workers.

GHO’s vision is to implement charitable, educational, religious and scientific programs in developing and underdeveloped regions of the world, including local at-risk communities. The organization exists to not only provide services and resources to families and children in need but to promote change that addresses advocacy, empowerment and civic participation.
