The Distinguished Speakers Series, underwritten by Student Fees, the Student Union and the Office of the President, provides students the opportunity to hear from and meet with prominent persons representing diverse viewpoints and backgrounds.
Students, faculty, staff, and the public are invited to come and hear from Sadat who has maintained her role as a lifetime advocate for the rights of women, the welfare of children and families and international peace.
Over the years Sadat has devoted her life to people by establishing numerous organizations, which focus on children, women, handicapped war veterans and civilians. She is currently an associate resident scholar at the University of Maryland’s Anwar Sadat Chair of the Development and Peace to honor and continue her husband’s legacy.
Admission to the event is free and seating is limited. Seating for students, faculty and staff with a valid UTPA ID will be at 7 p.m. Seating for the public will begin at 7:20 p.m.
