The public is invited to join students, faculty and staff to learn more about parapsychology, the study of such phenomena, at a lecture Wednesday, May 28, 6-7:30 p.m. at The University of Texas-Pan American by Dr. Etzel Cardena, Thorsen Professor of Psychology (including parapsychology and hypnosis) at Lund University in Sweden. His talk, “Extrasensory Perception (ESP): Fact or Fiction,” will be held in the Student Union Theater.

Cardena was a member of the UTPA faculty from 2000-2004 and a former chair of UTPA’s Department of Psychology and Anthropology and former director of the psychology graduate program. He has more than 150 scientific publications and has been honored with the highest scientific awards that the Society of Psychological Hypnosis and the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation bestows.
