“Deanna’s lecture will help students understand how health plays a vital role in their athletics, academics and life goals,” said Cindy Mata, assistant director for the Student Union. “The fun and student-oriented lecture will cover topics such as foods you can eat to stay fit, meals perfect for test days and finals week, ‘slow poisons’ you eat every day, how to avoid feeling lethargic, and the top 10 foods that sabotage your weight loss efforts.”
Admission is free for students, staff and faculty. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. for the event, which is hosted by the Wellness and Recreational Complex, Student Health Services, Bacchus and Gamma, UTPA Athletics and the Student Union.
