The week will begin with some traditional events for UTPA student organizations such as Yard Art, Bronc Olympics, Holler for a Dollar, a scavenger hunt and a basketball shoot out.
On Thursday, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. in the Student Union Theater, the University will hold a variety talent show, where UTPA students can showcase their talent for a chance to win and be recognized. A Coronation Ball will be held the next day, Feb. 1, from 7 p.m. to midnight. The ball will feature music, prizes, homecoming week awards and the presentation of UTPA's Homecoming Queen and King.
A reunion tailgate party will be held Saturday, Feb. 2, for all former students, graduates, faculty, staff and friends of Edinburg Junior College, Edinburg Regional College, Pan American University and UTPA.
Sponsored by the UTPA Alumni Association, the reunion/tailgate party will be held 4-8 p.m. in the Fieldhouse parking lot and include free food, drinks, and giveaways as well as a fajita cook-off competition. Live music sponsored by the Student Union will feature the band "Locked and Loaded." To register for the cook-off competition, contact 956/381-2500.
The UTPA Broncs men's basketball game against Chicago State will begin at 6 p.m. at the UTPA Fieldhouse followed at 8 p.m. by the Lady Broncs basketball game, also against Chicago State.
