Texas State Bank, which is known for giving back to the community, has helped students at The University of Texas-Pan American achieve their higher education goals for many years. This year, Texas State Bank awarded Martha Tamez, a senior finance student, a two-year scholarship. Tamez will receive $1,000 each semester, and will also serve as an intern at the main branch of Texas State Bank in McAllen. To qualify for a Texas State Bank Scholarship and Internship Program, a student must be enrolled in the UTPA College of Business Administration as a full-time student, have completed a minimum of 45 college hours with a grade point average of at least 3.0 and meet the employment requirements of Texas State Bank.
