March 16 fair presents students with leadership opportunities at UTPA

Students looking to get involved with The University of Texas-Pan American as campus leaders will have a chance to do some one-stop shopping by attending the University’s Second Annual Leadership Opportunities Fair Thursday, March 16, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the University Ballroom.

The fair, sponsored by the Student Leadership Academy, is open to all UTPA students and carries the theme “This Spot Reserved: We’re Saving a Spot for You to Get Involved!”

“The fair will allow students to connect with several campus organizations as well as with University departments and offices. Those who attend will be able to use these connections to learn about the wide variety of leadership positions available across the campus,” said Amy Martin, coordinator of the Student Leadership Academy, which operates under the Dean of Students Office.

The event will feature recruiters for a wide range of leader-oriented campus positions, including Student Government Association officers and senators, University Program Board committee chairs and members, Residence Life staff positions, Residence Housing Association Council members, Student Ambassadors, Student Union staff positions and graduate assistantships, Bacchus and Gamma officers, Judicial Peer Advocates, Campus Life Committee members, and Student Leadership Academy registration.
