Sigma Delta Pi chapter inducts first members

The first members of the newly reactivated Sigma Delta Pi chapter at The University of Texas-Pan American Department of Modern Languages and Literature were inducted in a ceremony held at the UTPA Student Union Sage Room April 5. Sigma Delta Pi is the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society (La Sociedad Nacional Honoraria Hispánica) and was established Nov. 14, 1919, at the University of California in Berkeley. The society has more than 600 chapters nationwide. Pictured front left to right are new members Rosa Padilla, senior, Mission; Anna Palacios, senior, Harlingen; and Elida Z. Garza, junior, Alamo.
