The University Program Board at The University of Texas-Pan American will host its annual Carnival of the Great Pumpkin Saturday, Oct. 23, 6-10 p.m. at the UTPA Fieldhouse.

University community members as well as families from surrounding communities are invited to dress in their scariest or cutest costume and rev up their Halloween spirit early by attending the fun-filled carnival.

The event, which is free to the public, will feature food booths, carnival games and a dunking booth, costume contests with cash prizes, music, a hay ride and other free attractions, such as inflatable moon jumps and face painting. Free parking is available adjacent to the Fieldhouse.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from the carnival will go to UTPA student organizations, mostly academic ones.

Bring the kids and the grandparents and enjoy a howling good time while supporting opportunities for UTPA students. For more information, please call the University Program Board at 956/316-7991.
