| Esiquel Avila, Jr, safety specialist for the Department of Environmental Health and Safety at The University of Texas-Pan American, will be able to provide better environmental safety services to the UTPA community after recently becoming a Certified Indoor Environmentalist. Avila attended a weeklong training and successfully passed a final exam before receiving the certification from the Indoor Air Quality Association – a nonprofit, multi-disciplined organization, dedicated to promoting the exchange of indoor environmental information, through education and research.
