Sethi – who was responsible for strategic planning, grant writing and leadership training for CoSERVE – will be conducting higher-level assessment activities and will generate management reports and conduct social science research.
“I am excited about this new position and am looking forward to applying the skills that I have gained during my 11 year tenure at CEED/CoSERVE, under the exceptional leadership of Roland Arriola, and Bret Mann,” Sethi said. “I have had the opportunity to be exposed to a diverse array of projects which have honed my skills in multiple areas.”
Sethi hopes to work closely with Dr. Susan Griffith, executive director of OIRE, and the entire staff to identify research needs and develop recommendations for institutional advancement.
“I want to be truly involved with every aspect of this institution and provide the best support possible,” she said.
Griffith believes Sethi will contribute greatly to the need of institutional advancement.
“She has worked at UTPA for years and knows its policies, processes and people,” Griffith said. “She also brings supervisory experience, which will be important in this office since she will be responsible for assigning tasks and monitoring the work of two institutional research analysts and our systems analyst.”
Sethi has experience in demographics and economic data analysis, and has developed strategic plans for communities across the state and also internationally. She has worked closely with the Census Bureau, the Texas State Data Center and other state and federal agencies.
Sethi received a doctorate degree in psychology from Panjab University in India in 1986, and an MBA from UT Pan American in 1992.
OIRE is responsible for directing and coordinating institutional planning, evaluation, policy analysis, and institutional and social science research at UT Pan American.
