More than 1,300 prospective graduates are expected to walk in the final commencement ceremonies of the 75th Anniversary year at The University of Texas-Pan American, May 16-17 at the UTPA Fieldhouse.
The graduation ceremonies will feature one commencement Friday, May 16 at 6 p.m. and four Saturday, May 17.

“The administration decided to go with tickets for the College of Education (noon), and the Colleges of Arts and Humanities and Health Sciences and Human Services (3 p.m.), because of the large number of prospective graduates for each ceremony,” Howlett said. “The large number of prospective graduates means an even larger number of family and guests that will be attending the ceremonies.”

The largest ceremonies will be the College of Education with more than 290 graduates, while the ceremony for the Colleges of Arts and Humanities and Health Sciences and Human Services is expecting 300 graduates.
Executive Director for the Texas Business and Education Coalition John Stevens will speak at the 9 a.m. and noon ceremonies, while Rose Guerra Reyna, Hidalgo County Judge for the 206th District Court, will speak at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Dr. Jerwen Jou, professor in the Department of Psychology and Anthropology, will speak at the Friday ceremony.
