Allford joined H-E-B in 1997 as group vice president for sales and advertising. She assumed responsibility for the H-E-B Own Brand program in 1998 and by 1999 had been asked to take the role of senior vice president for human resources. She was promoted to executive vice president of retailing on March 1, 2001.
Prior to H-E-B, Allford spent 11 years at Wal-Mart, where she was recruited to start a leadership program in 1986. During her tenure there, she moved up the ranks to senior vice president.
She has an MBA from the University of Oklahoma and a BS in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University. Allford has served on numerous retail education advisory boards and is an active supporter of United Way.
The UTPA Foundation is an independent nonprofit fund-raising organization assisting the institution and enabling people to donate to the University or a particular college or department. It was chartered in 1982 to raise, manage and invest funds for charitable, educational and scientific purposes to benefit UTPA.
