Rehearsals are in full swing for “Fiddler on the Roof,” the famed Broadway musical to be performed April 11-14 at The University of Texas-Pan American.
Shows at the Fine Arts Auditorium are at 8 p.m. April 11-13, with a 2 p.m. Sunday matinee April 14. The production showcases the faculty and students of the music and dance departments, as well as the University Theatre.

Dr. Rick Davis of the music department conducts the 12-piece orchestra, and he and colleague Ruth Crews are music directors. The dance department provided choreographer Melinda Blomquist and assistant Yolanda Barker-del Barrio.
Dr. Marian Monta is producer for the final University Theatre production of the 2001-2002 season. Theatre alumnus Jeff Marquis serves as stage director, Kate Ellis is coordinating costumes modeled on the original production, and Tom Grabowski is assembling scenery and lighting.
Tickets are $5 for general admission (back half of the theatre) and $10 for reserved (first 15 rows). UTPA students, faculty and staff receive one free admission only with their ID. Advance sales already have passed the 1,000-ticket mark.
