More than 1,000 students from Rio Grande Valley high schools, San Marcos High School and two Corpus Christi colleges – Del Mar College and Coastal Bend Community College – attended the fair.
“It was pretty cool and a good experience to learn about all the financial stuff,” said Chris Gonzalez, a Coastal Bend Community College student. “I really like the campus and the benefits and activities it offers.”
More than 17 lending companies and financial institutions were also on hand to speak to students about student loan procedures. Faculty representatives from UTPA’s various colleges and campus organizations were also available to answer questions.
