The 36-member company of dancers and musicians will perform traditional ceremonial dances and a combination of traditional dances from Jalisco, including Fiesta en Michocán, A Tarascán Wedding Celebration, Danzas Prehispanicas, Yucatán, Fiesta en Jalisco and Violin Huapango. The concert will also include a vibrant collection of Flamenco dance art and a suite of dances from Spain’s popular Zarzauelas La Gran Via.
The series will continue Feb. 15 at 7 p.m., Feb. 16-17 at 2 p.m., Feb. 22 at 7 p.m., Feb. 23 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Feb. 24 at 2 p.m.
Ticket prices are $8 in advance and $10 at the door and can be purchased two weeks before each event.
Tickets will be sold at the Pharr and Weslaco chambers of commerce, the Rio Grande Valley Partnership in Weslaco, Hidalgo County Historical Museum in Edinburg, Hermes Music in McAllen, the UTPA Payments and Collections office, IBC Wal-Mart branches in Edinburg, McAllen, Mission and Harlingen, and IBC Albertson's branches in Brownsville and Mission.
