University Theatre to hold 'A Christmas Carol' auditions

The University of Texas-Pan American University Theatre will hold auditions for its upcoming production of Charles Dickens’ classic tale, "A Christmas Carol."

Auditions for ages 14 and older are Monday, Oct. 15 and Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Studio Theatre in the Communication Arts Building. Auditions will consist of script readings, and those auditioning should be prepared to sing a verse of their favorite Christmas carol without accompaniment.

Callbacks will be by appointment only Sunday, Oct. 21 at 2 p.m. in the Studio Theatre.

Children ages 6-13 can audition Saturday, Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. in the Studio Theatre. Children should come prepared to participate in theatre activities, read from the script and sing.

Rehearsals begin Monday, Oct. 29 at the Albert L. Jeffers Theatre in the Communication Arts building. Scripts will not be available until the night of rehearsal.

Kate Ellis will direct the play, written for the UPTA stage by Jeff Marquis.
