Aspiring actors can audition for as many as four plays at The University of Texas-Pan American during the next few weeks.
All auditions will be at the Communication Arts and Sciences Building, Room 107 (Studio Theatre). They are open to everyone, though none of the plays require performers under high school age.
The first auditions are May 21-22 at 7 p.m. for “Picasso at the Lapin Agile.” This play is part of the Pan American Summer Stock (PASS) season June 21-24.
Auditions for the other two PASS season plays are June 4 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. The plays are “Check Out Chekov” June 28 to July 1 and “Once Upon a Wolf” July 5-8. These auditions will be done simultaneously by directors Eric Wiley and Kate Ellis.
Cold readings are acceptable, but the directors prefer delivery of a prepared brief monologue from a contemporary comedy.
Director Etzel Cardeña will hold auditions for “Woyzeck” June 5-6. The first show of the fall season, performance dates are Oct. 24-28.
For this audition, actors should be prepared with a selection from the play and a piece showing both physical and vocal ability. People interested in auditioning but unavailable during this time can contact Cardeña at 956/381-3323.
