Langabeer appointed to Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation

James R. Langabeer, vice president for Business Affairs at The University of Texas-Pan American, is one of three new appointments to the Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation made by Gov. Rick Perry Wednesday, April 4.

Also appointed were Albon O. Head Jr. of Aledo and Jerry Don Miller of Canyon. The appointments require Senate confirmation, and the terms expire Jan. 31, 2007.

The Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation is responsible for guaranteeing loans made to eligible students by eligible lenders as provided by the federal guaranteed student loan program.

A licensed certified public accountant, Langabeer is on the Texas Connection Consortium Board of Directors, the National Association of College and University Business Officers Comprehensive Colleges and Universities Council, and the University of Texas System Strategic Leadership Council. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Syracuse University and a master’s degree in business administration from Michigan State University.
