Dr. Dora Saavedra, director of the Honors Studies Program at The University of Texas-Pan American, will be the speaker at the UTPA Alumni Association Faculty Forum, April 4 at noon at The Tower Club in McAllen.

Saavedra will discuss “With Honors … In Pursuit of Excellence,” featuring an overview of the honors program, its future and personal stories from students. The presentation is scheduled to begin at 12:20 p.m. and end at 1 p.m.
Tickets for the luncheon are $12.50, and reservations can be made by contacting the Alumni Association at 956/381-2500.
Saavedra was coordinator of speech communication until her appointment to the Honors Studies Program. She has published a variety of articles and presented at the regional, national and international level.
