EDINBURG – In an effort to promote the health and fitness of senior citizens in the Rio Grande Valley and statewide, The University of Texas-Pan American, The Border Health Coordination Office, South Texas Healthcare Systems, Inc. and other organizations are sponsoring the Rio Grande Valley Border Senior Games March 11-13.
Participants age 50 and older will participate in more than 30 events on the UTPA campus and other locations in Edinburg and McAllen. Events include track and field, swimming, tennis, table tennis, basketball, shuffleboard, billiards, bowling, horseshoes and washers.
The entry fee is $10, $6 more for bowling. Contestants receive a T-shirt for participating along with medals for placing first, second or third. Entries must be postmarked by Friday, Feb. 25, and checks or money orders (made payable to UTPA-TMBHCO with account number 211231-0999) can be mailed to The University of Texas-Pan American, TMBHCO Office, 1201 W. University Drive, Edinburg, TX 78539.
