The session will begin at 1 p.m. and include dinner from 5 to 6 p.m.
Information on the various aspects of estate planning will be provided by a team of professionals led by attorney Morgan Talbot of Talbot and Wong in McAllen.
Other presenters will be attorney Judy Wong, also of Talbot and Wong; certified public accountant Pablo Vela Jr. of Long Chilton Payte Hardin; banker Carroll W. Sturgis Jr. of Texas State Bank; and financial consultant Vicki W. Knipp of A.G. Edwards & Sons. All are from McAllen.
“UT Pan American has been offering a series of free seminars for almost a decade,” said T. Edward Mercer, vice president for institutional advancement at UTPA, “and, last year, the newly organized estate planning council joined us. We’re pleased to be working together to sponsor five sessions throughout the Valley in 1999.”
In addition to the Jan. 27 seminar at Embassy Suites, 1800 S. Second St., McAllen, UTPA and the estate planning council will offer the following sessions, each with a different team of professionals as presenters:
• Feb. 3, The University of Texas at Brownsville, Brownsville
• Feb. 9, Harlingen Country Club, Harlingen
• Feb. 16, Embassy Suites, McAllen
• Feb. 24, The University of Texas-Pan American, Edinburg
“Rather than focus on a single topic, each of the seminars will offer a broad perspective of estate planning,” Mercer said. “By drawing together representatives from the various areas of estate planning, we will be giving the participants an opportunity to target their questions to the appropriate professional.”
Each of the seminars will be from 1 to 6 p.m. and will include a free dinner. Although there is no charge for the sessions, reservations are required since seating is limited at each site.
