Five dean candidates to visit campus

Five candidates for the deanship in the College of Science and Engineering are expected to visit the campus of The University of Texas-Pan American in the coming weeks.

"We are very pleased with the level of quality of these applicants, and we believe that any would make an excellent dean," said Dr. Richard Fowler, associate professor in the Department of Computer Science and chair of the dean search committee.

Scheduled to visit the university between Feb. 16 and March 11 are Dr. Jacob Jen-Gwo Chen, chair of the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Houston; Dr. Ronald Elsenbaumer, chair of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at UT Arlington; Dr. Duane Hrncir, chair of the Department of Chemistry at UT Dallas; Dr. Jack Robertson, chair of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Georgia College and State University; and Dr. Joseph Sneddon, chair of the Department of Chemistry at McNeese State University.
