Studio Twelve01 garners ADDY gold and best of show

UTPA students receive scholarships from Hogg Foundation
The University of Texas-Pan American (UTPA) graduate students Bianca Guajardo, Nancy Lopez, Estela Martinez, Elma Moreno and Anedia Pineda have been awarded scholarships by the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health to support bilingual mental health services in Texas. All are students in the Department of Social Work.

Alumni luncheon lauds achievements of former students and UTPA

Pillars of Success, official class ring highlight Alumni Ball 2012

Noted UT Dallas historian to present Rondel Davidson lecture Feb. 23 at UTPA
As the nation approaches the bicentennial of the War of 1812, the Rondel V. Davidson Endowment and the History Program at The University of Texas-Pan American are pleased to announce that noted historian Dr. R. David Edmunds will present this year's Rondel Davidson lecture Thursday, Feb. 23 on the topic "Tippecanoe: Tecumsah's Turning Point."

Dr. Marie T. Mora appointed to a Bureau of Labor Statistics advisory committee
Dr. Marie T. Mora, professor of economics at The University of Texas-Pan American, has been appointed a member of the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) Data Users Advisory Committee (DUAC). The appointment, which was approved by U.S. Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis, is for a three-year term that began Jan. 15, 2012.

Community gathers to remember Edinburg high school student
A few dozen students, faculty and staff from The University of Texas-Pan American, as well as members of the community, held a candlelight vigil Wednesday, Feb. 8 to remember Brenda Dominguez, the 18-year-old Edinburg North High School student who was found dead on campus earlier this week.
