UTPA’s community college transfer rate increases by 18.4 percent
With the launch of The University of Texas-Pan American Transfer Center in 2009 and its numerous articulation agreements with community colleges in South Texas, UTPA has bumped up its transfer student rate by 18.4 percent for 2008-2009. The influx of community college transfer students helped The University of Texas System increase its percentage rate by 11.3 among its nine academic institutions.

Dr. Jerry Polinard, professor of political science and pre-law adviser at The University of Texas-Pan American, was today awarded the prestigious 2010 Minnie Stevens Piper Award, an honor signifying he ranks as one of the top college educators in the state of Texas.
