Ceremony celebrates South Texas 2007 TBEC Honor Roll Schools
Forty-nine schools from South Texas that were named in the 2007 Texas Business and Education Coalition (TBEC) Honor Roll of Schools last fall were honored at a dinner March 25 at The University of Texas-Pan American.

FESTIBA 2008 kicks off with "Lost Cutures: The Aztecs" exhibit opening
The rhythmic sound of beating drums, a dazzling display of ceremonial Aztec dances by the Ballet Folklórico and the opening of an exhibit celebrating the descendants of an ancient and highly accomplished civilization kicked off the first day of FESTIBA (Festival of International Books and Arts) March 24 at The University of Texas-Pan American.

Nursing faculty member receives 2008 Leininger Award for Culture Care

Librarians are topic of documentary to be shown at UTPA March 28
The Hollywood Librarian is coming to The University of Texas-Pan American Friday, March 28 during its weeklong Festival of International Books and Arts (FESTIBA). “The Hollywood Librarian: A Look at Librarians Through Film,” will be shown at 8:15 a.m. at the UTPA Fine Arts Auditorium. Admission is free and the public is invited to view the 95-minute documentary, which will also be shown to more than 300 South Texas librarians who will be on campus for FESTIBA’s Librarians Day.

A photography exhibit celebrating the descendants of an ancient and highly accomplished civilization titled “Lost Cultures: The Aztecs” will open March 24 at The University of Texas-Pan American Visitors Center.

The last time Bill Clinton visited The University of Texas-Pan American he was a sitting president in 1999. On Monday, March 3, the former commander in chief will make a second trip to the campus – this time to stump for his wife Hillary Clinton, candidate for the Democratic nomination in the 2008 presidential election.
