Pulitzer Prize-winning poet cancels FESTIBA appearance
W.D. Snodgrass, 1960 Pulitzer Prize-winning poet, has canceled his appearance Thursday, March 1, at The University of Texas-Pan American’s first Festival of International Books and Arts (FESTIBA) due to an illness.

Dr. Paul Sale, provost and vice president for academic affairs at The University of Texas-Pan American, headed a UTPA delegation Jan. 31-Feb. 2, 2007 to Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) - Campus Guadalajara, Mexico, where he signed a joint declaration of commitment to strengthen academic relations with ITESM – Campus Guadalajara.

The University of Texas-Pan American was recognized as a “State Farm Priority School” for the second year in a row and received a $50,000 grant from State Farm Companies Foundation for HESTEC (Hispanic Engineering, Science and Technology) Week.
