Participants in UTPA Bridge to the Doctorate Program celebrate achievements May 18
Twelve students at The University of Texas-Pan American and their faculty mentors gathered May 18 with University administrators to celebrate the nearing culmination of a two-year Bridge to the Doctorate Program supported by a $972,000 grant from the National Science Foundation to the University of Texas System Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP).

UTPA graduates more than 1,500 at spring ceremonies
The spotlight was on a year of amazing academic accomplishments by students and faculty at the spring 2006 commencement ceremonies May 13 at The University of Texas-Pan American. Four ceremonies for 1,573 prospective graduates in both undergraduate and graduate programs in six academic colleges were held throughout the day.

UTPA SIFE wins regional competition in Dallas
The University of Texas-Pan American’s Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) organization was recently the only University of Texas System school and one of only four Texas universities that won overall in the Regional SIFE Competition in Dallas.

Five UTPA students recognized at Salute to Student Leaders Awards Luncheon
One of the highlights of the second annual Student Leadership Week held April 17-21 at The University of Texas-Pan American was a Salute the Student Leaders Award luncheon April 20 where five students were recognized for their unselfish service to the community and their potential to become tomorrow’s leaders.
