Latinas Day promotes higher education to mothers and daughters
The third day of Hispanic Engineering, Science and Technology (HESTEC) Week at The University of Texas-Pan American was set aside for Rio Grande Valley mothers and daughters with a goal of creating a bond between them and encouraging them to dream big.

UTPA opens new Academic Advisement and Mentoring Center October 4
Both students and faculty at The University of Texas-Pan American will benefit from the establishment of a new Academic Advisement and Mentoring Center (AAMC) that will open with a ribbon cutting at 2 p.m. followed by an open house on Tuesday, October 4.

Ford steers students to higher education paths
Ford Motor Company wants to put Rio Grande Valley students in the driver’s seat of life by helping steer them to careers in math, science and engineering through their support of Student Leadership Day during Hispanic Engineering, Science and Technology (HESTEC) Week.

Accounting team wins second straight national audit competition
For the second year in a row, The University of Texas-Pan American’s accounting team won first place in the National Student Case Study Competition sponsored by KPMG, one of the world’s largest accounting firms, and the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA).


H-E-B supports HESTEC 2005
H-E-B donated $15,000 in products such as chips, drinks and supplies Sept. 9 for Hispanic Engineering, Science and Technology (HESTEC) Week at The University of Texas-Pan American.

“The"Telling Moments” art exhibition opens in UTPA’s University Gallery
The University Gallery at The University of Texas-Pan American announces the opening of the "The Telling Moments" M.F.A. exhibit featuring the works of Rio Grande Valley artist Anna Marie Salinas. The exhibit will run through Oct. 14 in the University Gallery.

The University of Texas-Pan American stands with the nation in expressing sorrow in this time of terrible tragedy in the areas affected by Hurricane Katrina. It is our understanding that colleges and universities in these devastated areas may take months to recover and rebuild and the University would like to offer a helping hand.
