Texas native Dr. Gary Wiggins was recently named the chief information officer at The University of Texas-Pan American replacing William Morris, who previously served as the executive director for information technology and is now University registrar in the Office of Records and Registration.

UTPA receives grant for the creation of a volunteer program
Faculty and students at The University of Texas-Pan American will have the opportunity starting fall 2005 to participate in a new Volunteer Resource Program made possible by a grant recently received by the Southwest Border Nonprofit Resource Center.


UTPA spring enrollment increases by more than six percent
Student enrollment at The University of Texas-Pan American continued on its recent trend of steady increases as official numbers this semester indicate a more than six percent increase from last year.

The University of Texas-Pan American Folkloric Dance Company will continue its annual concert series of ALEGRIA 2004-2005, a 35th Anniversary Celebration, on Feb. 11 at 7:30 p.m.; Feb. 12-13 at 2 p.m.; Feb. 18 at 7:30 p.m., and Feb. 19-20 at 2 p.m.

New events added to 2005 HESTEC Week activities
