Capitol Hill launch held for MSIRP'06 Conference at UTPA in February
A coalition of supporters of Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) joined forces in the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. recently to announce to congressional members and their staff the nationwide Minority Serving Institutions Research Partnerships (MSIRP’06) Conference to be held at The University of Texas-Pan American (UTPA) in Edinburg, Texas on Feb. 2-4, 2006.

AIDS activist visits UTPA for 2005 AIDS Awareness Day
Rae Lewis Thorton, an AIDS activist who has been featured on the cover of Essence magazine and has been in numerous feature stories for Ebony and Emerge magazines, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun Times and the Washington Post, speaks to students, staff and faculty at The University of Texas-Pan American Student Union Theater Dec.1 at the 2005 AIDS Awareness Day.
