New math building, computer center formally dedicated
The latest addition to The University of Texas-Pan American campus – the Mathematics and General Classroom Building and Computer Center – was formally dedicated Wednesday, Oct. 31 at a ceremony featuring administrators from The University of Texas System and UTPA, along with several Rio Grande Valley state legislators.

Memorial service honors life of beloved professor

ERMC, UTPA Foundation donate $30,000 each for nursing scholarships
Edinburg Regional Medical Center announced Friday, Oct. 5 the initiation of a $30,000 annual contribution to The University of Texas-Pan American for nursing scholarships, and its contribution will be matched by the UTPA Foundation to provide $60,000 for students.

General Schwarzkopf to speak Nov. 5 at UTPA
One of America’s best-known heroes will address Valley business and civic leaders at The University of Texas-Pan American. General H. Norman Schwarzkopf, whose military career has spanned nearly a half-century, will speak at 7 p.m. Nov. 5 as part of The UTPA Foundation’s Outstanding Leadership Series. All proceeds from the event will be used for student scholarships.
