UTPA students express Hispanic culture through mariachi music
At the early age of six, Julie Ann Zamora of McAllen, got her first taste of mariachi music. Spending countless hours listening to her parent’s old mariachi records, she developed a taste for the strong Mexican rhythm combination of violins, guitars, basses, and trumpets.

Senior citizens arrived at The University of Texas-Pan American Annex Building by the busload Wednesday (Nov. 11) to address health issues at a two-day forum titled “A Voice for Hispanic Seniors in the Health Care Debate.”
