Get ready to laugh your head off this summer at The University of Texas-Pan American. Enjoy three fun, complementary comedies during the University Theatre Productions' Pan American Summer Stock (P.A.S.S.) 2013.
Don't miss the premiere of "Pachanga," a Latino dance comedy that features a multimedia extravaganza with 23 dancers in an epic Rio Grande Valley dance battle. This comedy will have three showings on June 21, 7:30 p.m.; June 22, 6:30 p.m.; and a final matinee on June 23, 2 p.m. at the Studio Theatre, next door to the Albert L. Jeffers Theatre in the Arts and Humanities Building . Tickets are $5 a person and limited open seating is available.
"Our Lady of the Tortilla" is the second comedy of the season that tells the story of family love that unfolds when a miraculous sighting of the Virgin Mary occurs in a tortilla. Join us for this production June 27-29, 7:30 p.m. and a final matinee June 30, 2 p.m. at the Albert L. Jeffers Theatre in the Arts and Humanities Building.
"Over the River and Through the Woods" is the final production of the summer and is a hilarious and heart-warming family story that takes place in New Jersey and unfolds when grandparents come up with a plan to keep their grandson from moving away. Check it out July 4-6, 7:30 p.m. with a final matinee on July 7, 2 p.m. at the Albert L. Jeffers Theatre.
Ticket pricing for "Our Lady of the Tortilla" and "Over the River and Through the Woods" includes $12 reserve seating, $8 general admission, and $3 non-UTPA students with school ID. UTPA students, faculty and staff are free with a vaild UTPA ID, which also includes one free guest. No children below the third grade will be admitted.
