The University of Texas-Pan American will be relocating a number of offices that offer services to both students and the general public in January 2012.
New tenants in the Haggar Building will include High School to University Programs and Testing Services, Educational Talent Search, Border Health Office, Community Engagement's Business and Rural Development Programs and UTPA GEAR UP.
The Haggar Building already houses the University's Departments of Central Receiving, Assets Management, Records Management and the Print Shop.
High School to University Programs and Testing Services will move on Monday, Jan. 9 and are planned to be fully operational in their new location Tuesday, Jan. 17. The other office move dates are as follows:
- Educational Talent Search, Jan. 17
- Border Health, Jan. 18
- Community Engagement, Jan. 19
- UTPA GEAR UP, Jan. 20
The annex will be renovated to house the UTPA Department of Art's undergraduate and graduate programs. The graduate program is already operating at this location.
Direct access from Hwy. 281 to the Haggar Building is available as well as ample parking adjacent to the building. In addition to the offices, the building will also feature a large multipurpose room and several classroom/meeting rooms.
"We ask that the community please bear with us as we make the transition from one building to the next, as construction activities are continuing in some areas to ready the building for all occupants and visitors," said Marta Salinas-Hovar, project manager, facilities management, UTPA Physical Plant.
University administrators recommend that persons needing or using services provided by any of the offices being moved to call the office prior to visiting to learn when it will be fully operational after the office's scheduled move date. Contact numbers are available in the University Directory.
