If you are thinking about taking your education to the next level, don't miss the 2008 Graduate and Professional School Fair at The University of Texas-Pan American on Friday, Oct. 24.
More than 30 colleges and universities will be at the University Ballroom from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. to introduce students a variety of post-graduate educational opportunities.
At the fair, hosted by the Office of Career Services, students will be able to collect admission information, degree plans, and even scholarship and financial aid applications from the different colleges in attendance. School representatives will be available to answer questions concerning their university and programs.
Some of the colleges attending the fair include Our Lady of the Lake University, Texas A&M University, University of Texas at Dallas, University of Houston, Texas State University-San Marcos, Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, University of Texas at San Antonio, University of Arkansas, University of Texas at Austin, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, and many more.
"This is the only fair we have dedicated solely to graduate programs. This also makes it much easier for any students interested in graduate school to get information from an actual university or college representative rather than over the Internet," said Lourdes Servantes, Career Services assistant director.
The goal of the Graduate and Professional School Fair is to help students familiarize themselves with the graduate school process and the work involved in obtaining a post-graduate degree.
"This is a great event to attend for students who are considering pursuing a graduate degree. We encourage students to start planning early for graduate school and start looking into graduate schools by at least their sophomore year," said Servantes.
