Along with her appearance as a keynote speaker during HESTEC's Latinas Day at The University of Texas-Pan American Sept. 24, Magda Yrizarry, vice president of Workplace Culture, Diversity and Compliance in corporate human resources for Verizon, met with several UTPA Verizon scholars and recent Verizon scholar graduates, all business majors. Yrizarry talked to the students about career opportunities at Verizon and inquired about the leading factors guiding students and graduates in their job or career search and selection. Over the years, UTPA students have benefited from Verizon scholarship funds and the opportunities for hands-on work experience through internships established at Verizon with the assistance of the College of Business Administration and the UTPA Office of Career Services.
