The University of Texas-Pan American Foundation is hosting its 26th Annual Estate Planning Seminars for Rio Grande Valley citizens in two Valley locations this month.
The UTPA Foundation has recruited an outstanding group of estate planning professionals - attorneys, financial planners, CPA's and investment brokers - who will guide those who attend the free seminars through the basics of estate planning in simple, non-technical language.
"This will be an excellent opportunity to meet with and ask questions of extremely competent and knowledgeable estate-planning professionals about a number of topics that are important to individuals and their families," Cecilia Rackley Johnson, UTPA's associate director of Planned Giving, said. "The speakers are volunteers and they host the seminars to increase the level of awareness of individuals as to what opportunities are available to prepare for and protect one's lifestyle and possessions. They are not there to sell anything."
The seminar schedule with topics, locations and times are as follows:
Thursday, March 13: "Estate Planning Toolbox" led by Morgan Talbot, attorney; Pablo Vela, certified public accountant; Mark Talbot, attorney; and R.T. Dixon, investment adviser representative. 1:30-4 p.m. at the McAllen Chamber of Commerce, 1200 Ash Avenue. Light refreshments will be served.
Saturday, March 15: "Estate Planning Toolbox" led by Morgan Talbot, attorney; Pablo Vela, certified public accountant; Mark Talbot, attorney; and Dennis Burleson, investment adviser representative. 8:30-11:30 a.m. at the UTPA Campus, ITT Building, 1201 W. University Drive, Edinburg. Light refreshments will be served.
Wednesday, March 26: "Financial and Estate Planning Strategies in an Election Year" led by Bill Ellis, attorney and Jim Pax, investment adviser representative. 1:30-4 p.m. at the McAllen Chamber of Commerce, 1200 Ash Avenue. Light refreshments will be served.
