The University of Texas-Pan American College of Health Sciences and Human Services signed a collaboration agreement Friday, Feb. 1 with the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León to co-sponsor a professional journal, "Social Perspectives." The signing of this inter-institutional agreement to co-sponsor a refereed professional journal is intended to promote multidisciplinary scholarship and publications by both institutions. The signing of this agreement goes along with the University's strategic plan to create international programs and initiatives with universities in Mexico and Latin America. UTPA is in the process of developing a stronger and more significant working relationship with Mexican universities given the strategic location near the U.S.-Mexico border, and are seeking to create faculty and student exchange programs and collaborations in the areas of teaching, service and research.
