Pictured is Jorge Alarcon, a UTPA junior majoring in physics, carving a pumpkin during the University's annual pumpkin carving contest held at the Student Union Oct. 31. During the day, students also had the opportunity to show off their wackiest and scariest Halloween garb during a costume contest at the Student Union. UTPA students will be celebrating a week of Halloween activities and events through Friday, Nov. 2 thanks to the University Program Board and Student Union. The Halloween Week will continue Thursday, Nov. 1 with a Salsa Night and Friday, Nov. 2 with a Día de los Muertos exhibition. For more information on upcoming Student Union events, call 956/316-7989.
